Smolensk NPP: a new commander has been appointed in the troop unit of the nuclear plant’s security service

Major Andrey Alexeev was appointed to the post of commander of the troop unit on the guard of Smolensk NPP. Lieutenant Colonel Alexander Malukh, earlier heading the squadron, delegated his powers over to the new major and paid a last tribute to the military banner – a symbol of military servicemen’s valour and honour.

“For the two years I had been commanding the troop unit; we performed the tasks set by our native country with honor and dignity”, Lieutenant Colonel Malukh said, addressing to the squadron staff. “The result of our work is one of the leading positions and deserved respect and also the reliability of guard and protection of Smolensk NPP, several times confirmed during the drills. I am sure that together with the commander arrived to replace me your consolidated team will continue fulfilling your military duty with honor and dignity”.

On behalf of SNP management Security Service Head Alexander Yuskevich thanked the Lieutenant Colonel for effective collaboration and considerable contribution into the nuclear plant’s safety improvement. He noted that the transfer of Alexander Malukh to the job of Regiment Commander of Internal Troops in Bryansk is the obligate result of his professional activity and whole-hearted service to the Native country.

“I am proud that I was honoured to command over the squadron defending such an important object from the strategic point of views as Smolensk nuclear plant”, Major Alexeev underlined in his reply. He witnessed that the glorious military traditions of the squadron would grow strong and multiply, and the staff would soldier exemplary, observe the asserted order and strong military discipline and improve their tactical efficiency.
