Smolensk NPP: Public Information Centre has been awarded the prizes of the International contest

Public Information Centre of Smolensk NPP was awarded the prizes in three nominations of “Pegaz-2010” XVII International Journalists’ Contest.

According to the contest jury decision, the staff of the nuclear plant press-service was awarded Grand Prix with a bronze statue of “Pegaz” winged horse. “Smolensk Atom” newspaper and the creative group working on the book of the Great Patriotic War veterans – Desnogorsk cities, entitled “Tell about us for them to Remember” were marked by honorable diplomas.

In 2011, more than 150 application letters for the contest were received, and 46 editor’s offices, press-services, authors’ groups and individual authors were awarded.

Public Information Centre of Smolensk NPP has been taking part in “Pegaz” contest since 2004. The creative group became the laureate several times. In 2008, the press-service was awarded the first prize as well, and the newspaper was handed over the “Big Golden Medal”.

“Pegaz” international journalists’ contest became the nucleus surrounded by the journalists’ community, writing about the fuel and power complex. This union allows not only drawing attention to the problems of one of the branches of Russian economies’ development, but also giving the opportunity of self-realization to the talented, professional and competent representatives of mass media”, Deputy Head of Public Information Centre of Smolensk NPP, Chairman of Desnogorsk Department of Journalists’ Association Eugenia Prishletsova underlined.

Smolensk NPP is a branch of Rosenergoatom Concern OJSC. Every year SNPP supplies to the country electric power system at the average about 20 bln kilowatt-hours of electric power equal to almost 13% of power generated in Rosenergoatom Concern and to more than 80% of that generated by the power plants of Smolensk region.
