Smolensk NPP has held open championship in swimming

On April 7, 2012 the recovery-recreational and leisure centre of Smolensk NPP held an open championship in swimming among employees of SNPP and citizens of the city, dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the nuclear power plant and the 20th anniversary of Rosenergoatom Concern.

40 athletes from the number of Smolensk NPP employees, contractors and youth of the city participated in the swimming competitions. The swimmers overcame distances of 50 m in free style and breast stroke.

Following the results, the prize places were distributed as follows: the 1st prize among women was taken by Lyudmila Bogomolova (Smolensk NPP) and Yevgeniya Sannikova (Smolenskatomenergoremont); the 2nd prize went to Anna Usacheva (Smolensk NPP) and Irina Guk (Federal State Unitary Enterprise Atom-Okhrana); and the 3rd prize – to Yelena Puchkova (Smolensk NPP) and Maria Agafonova (Smolensk NPP).

Among men the 1st prize went to Igor Kovalskiy (Smolensk NPP) and Igor Andreyev (student); the 2nd prize was won by Sergey Orlov (Smolensk NPP) and Anatoliy Fedyukov (student); the 3rd prize – by Vladimir Kochetkov (Smolensk NPP) and Vladimir Fedyukov (student). In a breast stroke swim the 1st prize was won by Igor Kovalskiy (Smolensk NPP) and Vladimir Fedyukov (student); the 2nd prize – by Vladimir Kochetkov (Smolensk NPP) and Igor Andreyev (student), the 3rd prize – by Oleg Sannikov (Smolensk NPP) and Anatoliy Fedyukov (student). The winners were awarded with diplomas and presents from Smolensk NPP.

Smolensk NPP and Rosenergoatom Concern put the development of physical culture and sports in a number of priority tasks of social policy. Realizing that the investment in health of its employees is a judicious investment, Rosenergoatom expands sports infrastructure in satellite towns of nuclear power plants, devotes funds to carry put competitions and Spartakiada Games, and supports children and youth sections.  As a result - each year grows a number of participants, develop new kinds of sports, and appear lively and beautiful victories.

Smolensk NPP is a branch of Rosenergoatom Concern OJSC. Annually SNPP provides the country power system at an average of about 20 billion kWh of electrical power, which makes about 13% of energy produced by Rosenergoatom Concern and more than 80% produced by the power enterprises of the Smolensk Region.
