On February 9 and 10, 2011 young art critics, artists, designers and ethnographers competed in Rostov NPP Information Centre (Volgodonsk city).

As a part of the III citywide open scientific and practical Conference of the Academy of Young Researchers, the official partner of which is Rostov NPP, the work of Art section was held.

Schoolchildren from Volgodonsk and neighboring districts presented their researches in the field of crafts creativity, architecture and design, folk and ethnography and creative works handmade as well.  

The crafts exhibition was opened in one of the halls of the Information Centre. Tapestry, woven and knitted pictures, beading, unordinary accessories and handmade toys were presented in the exposition. During the section work young designers demonstrated their skills as well. They presented to the public a collection of clothes made of ordinary plastic bags. And the amateur ethnographers demonstrated Kazaks’ suits, sang Kazaks’ songs and narrated the history of Don customs and celebrations.

The expert council, including the teachers of Volgodonsk educational establishments and public organizations representatives, estimated the schoolchildren’s work. The winners were awarded diplomas and prizes from Rostov NPP.

On the behalf of the conference organizers and participants, Larisa Zheleznikova, deputy Director of the Centre of Children Creativity, gave thanks to the staff of Rostov NPP Centre of Public Information for the hospitality and the assistance in the event organization.
