The deputies together with the region government are to solve the issue of the benefits for electric power for the population of Rostov NPP 30-kilometer area. Chairman of Rostov Region Legislative Assembly, United Russia Head of Fraction and Secretary of District Political Council PPO Viktor Derebyakin reported about it during the visit of Don Parliament members to Rostov NPP.

We shall remind that on April 14 a public inspection of the plant safety, with participation of deputies of Rostov Region Legislative Assembly, representatives of governmental bodies of the cities and districts included into the nuclear plant 30-kilometer area, journalists of Federal and district Mass Media, was held.

After Rostov NPP public inspection, a field assembly of United Russia fraction of Rostov Region Legislative Assembly was held in Volgodonsk. Speaking about the benefits for electric power for the population of a 30-kilometer area, Viktor Deryabkin noted: “We do not give up the attempts of finding the solution to the problem – we have consulted the Region Governor, gave the calculations of the substantiation and agreed to return to this topic due to the region working results for the year half. The problem solution is in the competence of the regional government. On the Federation level we were told that the benefits are possible at the expense of the taxes from the nuclear plant, coming into the regional budget. It is not inconceivable that the solution will be realized in several stages. Depending on the regional budget possibilities, not 50, but 30% of the rate can be compensated. Probably, a certain volume of power consumption will be taken as a basis. These issues are being worked out. And we are sure that the problem will be solved”.

Developing the topic of rates, Deputy Minister of Rostov region Industry and Energy – Head of the Department of Energy and Oil and Gas Complex Evgeny Prusov noted, that according to the results of 2010 Rostov nuclear plant became the first in electric power production in the region, providing 51% of all the generation volume. “The plant will increase its capacities. Now two units are under operation, the third and the forth ones are being constructed. Accordingly, the question of electric power rates stabilization will be considered”, he underlined.
