Rostov NPP: Young Whales Give Answers to Questions on History of Disasters

On April 26 at the Public Information Centre of Rostov NPP, there was held a session of the intellectual club “Eureka”, coincided with the anniversary of the Chernobyl NPP Accident. During the meeting, according to the tradition, there were held two intellectual games “What? Where? When?”. The phototechnical club of the Volgodonsk Young Technicians’ Station and the Lyceum 11 presented their teams. “The History of Disasters” was the topic of the second spring series intellectual games.

The first to sit at the gaming table was the team of the YTS phototechnical club. Losing for the first three rounds by a score 3:0, the young whales managed to change the course of the game, and, as a result, won by a score 6:3.

A game of the Lyceum 11 team was less successful. The lyceum students started answering questions with decision, but for the final round they came with the score 5:5. As a result, they have lost not being able to answer the last question.

The game of the young whales has been assessed by the 5th year Volgodonsk National Research Nuclear University MEPhI students Yevgeniy Romakh and Aleksander Miroshnichenko. It is worthwhile to say that these young men, as well as the initiator of creation of the intellectual club “Eureka”, the YTS teacher Aleksander Bilchenko, joined the picked team of Rostov NPP, and took part at the VIII International tournament on intellectual games “What? Where? When?”, which took place in Novovoronezh, having won the 3rd prize.

By the experts’ decision, Andrey Bykhanov and Maxim Perepelitsyn (YTS Phototechnical Club), and Darya Rogozhkina (Lyceum 11) have got special prizes for the best game play.

The next game plays will pass on May 22. They will be dedicated to the history of the Olympic Games. At the end of these games, there will be summing up of the spring series intellectual games, and the best team will be awarded with a special cup.
 
Rostov NPP is a branch of Rosenergoatom Concern OJSC. The enterprise is situated on the bank of Tsimlyansk Reservoir at 13,5 km from Volgodonsk. The NPP operates two power units with VVER-1000 model reactors with the installed capacity of 1,000 MW each. The power units 3 and 4 are nowadays under construction.
