Rostov NPP: Training Seminar for Trade Union Activists

On August 22, 2012 the Information Centre of Rostov NPP held a training seminar for trade union activists of the primary trade union organization of the nuclear power plant.



The training was held by Head of the Legal Department of the Central Committee of the Russian Trade Union of Atomic Energy and Industry Employees, Nikolay Rudakov. Also trade union leaders of Nizhny Novgorod enterprises included in Rosatom State Corporation – Chairman of the Primary Trade Union Organization of the Federal State Unitary Enterprise “Federal Scientific and Research Centre, Y.E. Sedakov Scientific and Research Institute of Metrology Systems”, Mikhail Pigarev, and Chairman of the trade union committee of JSC Afrikantov Experimental Mechanical Engineering Design Bureau, Yevgeny Khokhlov, shared the experience of work of their primary trade union organizations with activists of the nuclear power plant’s trade union organization. They were invited by the management of Rostov NPP trade union committee.

Nikolay Rudakov referred in details on the issues related to legal framework of the primary trade union organization activities, based on the principal laws of the Russian Federation, emphasizing the specifics of the nuclear industry enterprises. After his speech, the audience raised questions related to various topics. Answering the multiple questions, Nikolay Rudakov noted that the main task of the trade union organization has always been and remained to protect interests of the working group in close cooperation with the employer. 

Chairman of TUC of Rostov NPP, Alexander Soroka, thanked the guests for the participation in the seminar. “Such meetings are necessary. Similar seminars are useful for us here on work places. It is a real help and opportunity always to be aware of changes. Our task is to work for people and live with their concerns. And those problems, which exist at any enterprise, are similar, and so only together we will be able to solve them,” noted Alexander Soroka.



Rostov NPP is a branch of Rosenergoatom Concern OJSC. The enterprise is situated on the bank of Tsimlyansk Reservoir at 13,5 km from Volgodonsk. NPP operates two power units with VVER-1000 reactors with the capacity of 1,000 MW. Units 3 and 4 are under construction.
