Rostov NPP: Labour Semester of Students’ Unions Finishes at Construction Site

On August 14, 2012 Volgodonsk held a ceremonial closing of the All-Russian Students’ Construction of 2012 (VSS-2012) at the construction site of Rostov nuclear power plant.



More than 200 students from student’s unions of the Rostov region universities (Volgodonsk, Novocherkassk, Zernograd), as well as of other Russian regions (Nizhny Novgorod, Kostroma) have been working during a month and a half at the construction site of Units 3 and 4 of Rostov NPP.

Being a part of the construction union, the students have earned their first money, as well as took part in various activities: sports contests, tours to the personnel training subdivision and Information Centre of the nuclear power plant.

“We are thankful to the management of Rostov NPP, general contractor of the construction – JSC NIAEP, and subcontracting organizations for good reception and our gained building experience. We do not farewell with the construction site, we say “Good-Bye”! Next summer, in 2013, the best students’ unions again will arrive to work under the banner of Rosatom,” said Anna Lukoshina, a commissary of VSS “Volgodonsk-2012”. 

In the solemn ceremony, the best participants of the labour troops were awarded with prizes, honorary certificates and gifts for their conscientious work and winning in the Spartakiad among students’ unions.

The general contractor of the construction at Rostov NPP – Volgodonsk branch of JSC NIAEP - was assigned the status of the main platform of the “All-Russian Students’ Construction of Nuclear Industry Facilities at Rostov Nuclear Power Plant”.



 

Rostov NPP is a branch of Rosenergoatom Concern OJSC. The enterprise is situated on the bank of Tsimlyansk Reservoir at 13,5 km from Volgodonsk. NPP operates two power units with VVER-1000 reactors with the capacity of 1,000 MW. Unit 1 was commissioned in 2001 and Unit 2 – in December 2010.
