Rostov NPP: Employee of Nuclear Power Plant Has Become an Intercontinental Champion in Boxing

On March 16, 2012 the 5 Champions professional boxing tournament took place in Krasnodar, where the Volgodonsk fighter Dmitriy Kudryashov, an employee of Rostov nuclear power plant, participated.

In the eight-round fight for a title of Intercontinental Champion, according to the ProBOKS magazine opinion, in the weight category to 91 kg he was opposed by Obadiah Mwangi, a Kenyan heavy-weight fighter, experienced contestant, who had participated in 32 fights and gained 26 wins.  

After the second knockdown the Kenyan fighter decided to abandon the fight.  Thereby, at the 57th second of the first round Dmitriy Kudryashov achieved another victory with a technical knockout, and first on squared ring he won the Intercontinental Champion belt.


Rostov NPP is a branch of Rosenergoatom Concern OJSC. The enterprise is situated on the bank of Tsimlyansk Reservoir at 13,5 km from Volgodonsk. The NPP operates two power units with VVER-1000 reactors with the capacity of 1000 MW. The power unit No.1 was commissioned in 2001 and the power unit No.2 – in December 2010.
