Rostov NPP Hosts Group of Charity Girls of Nikolo-Solbinsk Convent
A concert by charity girls of Nikolo-Solbinsk convent was performed for the plant’s employees on August 3, 2012 at the Information Centre of Rostov NPP.
The performance program of the company “Angelic Voices” included sacred music and popular works of the Russian authors. Pure children’s voices and harmonious choral singing impressed the audience very much. The nuclear engineers consider that the girls have presented them a real feast of music.
16 girls of the boarding school attached to Nikolo-Solbinsk convent of Yaroslav Bishopric have been on a visit in Volgodonsk since August 1. This trip was organized by the guardian of an orphan asylum - Advisor to General Director of Rosenergoatom Concern, Eric Pozdyshev.
The program of activities organized for the guests by Rostov NPP employees includes tours not only in Volgodonsk, but also in the neighboring cities. In Volgograd the girls knew memorable places of the hero-city, rode horses at Proletarian Velikoknyazhesky Stud, and not only observed the process of production of the unique Semikarakorsky earthenware, but tried also to ornament crockery. In Volgodonsk the guests from Nikolo-Solbinsk nunnery visited the city churches. On August 5 the charity girls took part in the divine service in St. Nicolas Church of Tsimlyansk.
Meanwhile, the rich concert and tour program does not deprive the children of a pleasure to relax: Rostov NPP leisure base “The White Tower” kindly opened its doors for the guests. The southern sun, plenty of fruit and vegetables, interesting walks and new friends – this is why this summer in Volgodonsk, according to the girls, will stay in their memory.
Rostov NPP is a branch of Rosenergoatom Concern OJSC. The enterprise is situated on the bank of Tsimlyansk Reservoir at 13,5 km from Volgodonsk. NPP operates two power units with VVER-1000 reactors with the capacity of 1,000 MW. Unit 1 was commissioned in 2001 and Unit 2 – in December 2010. Power Units 3 and 4 are nowadays under construction.
