On May 16, 2012 under the World Council of WANO Managing Directors, the WANO Managing Directors made a working trip to the Emergency Response Centre of Rosenergoatom Concern OJSC.

Deputy General Director Р Director for Production and Operation of Nuclear Power Plants Alexander Shutikov delivered to the guests a report on the Emergency Response Centre functioning, and Deputy Director for Production and Operation of Nuclear Power Plants Р Director of the Emergency Preparedness and Radiation Protection Department Vladimir Khlebtsevich delivered a report on creation of the Regional Emergency Response Centre for the plants with VVER model reactors.

The WANO delegation acquainted with the working area for supervision of the state of the pile assembly, information systems and communications equipment functioning, and received information on the main problems solved by the shift of the operations and dispatching department of the Emergency Response Centre.

The foreign guests noted the highest level of the emergency preparedness of the Russian nuclear power plants.
