Rosenergoatom: General construction readiness of the biggest Russian Data Processing Centre has reached 70%
The general construction readiness of the first stage of the biggest Russian Data processing centre (DPC) being built near Kalinin NPP (the branch company of Rosenergoatom Concern) has reached about 70%.
This information was given at business meeting with the Deputy Chairman of the Federal Environmental, Industrial and Nuclear Supervision Service of Russia Aleksey Ferapontov and the Deputy Director General Р the Director of economy and finance of Rosenergoatom Concern Sergey Migalin. They arrived at Kalinin NPP for a one-day working visit on 11 January 2017.
ТThe first stage of DPC includes the construction of group of buildings and facilities, among them there are three buildings of DPC; two of them are to be commissioned in the first quarter of 2017 and the third one to be commissioned in the first quarter of 2018У, S. Migalin explained. ТThe one half of the first building is allotted for Rosenergoatom ConcernХs capacities: about 200 racks will be taken for ConcernХs needs including the ones of Kalinin NPP. The remaining part Р 600 racks Р we are ready to offer for rent to federal authorities, and profit-making organizations with rather profitable conditions of cooperation. Rosatom State Corporation that runs the Concern is always guided by its clientsХ and partnersХ demands and is ready for long-term and flexible partnershipУ.
Within his visit to Kalinin NPP Aleksey Ferapontov has visited the construction site of data processing centre. In particular he has noted the high significance of the critical infrastructure in present-day world that now includes fail-safe DPC as the subject of federal importance. The Deputy Chairman of the Federal Environmental, Industrial and Nuclear Supervision Service together with the Plant Manager Viktor Ignatov and the Chief Engineer Aleksandr Dorofeev have discussed the progress of repairs of Phase B of power unit No 3 unit transformer, the number of events on upgrading the performance of turbine control system of power unit No 4.
During the visit Aleksey Ferapontov also has made a technical tour on nuclear plant, visited control rooms of the first and second stage, main control room of power unit No 4.
The construction of DPC is the example of Rosenergoatom new way of business that is implemented within the framework of one of the priority tasks of Rosatom State Corporation development strategy Р that is the making of new products and services. The DPC is the integrated engineering and technical complex being built in partnership with Rostelecom PJSC. In prospect the project includes five DPC buildings (58,770 sq m): this is approximately 8,000 rack spaces. The planned life duration of DPC is 30 years. The total capacity of DPC is 80 MW. The first cubic meter of concrete on DPC construction site was placed on 24 February 2016. The general contractor of the centre construction is TsHD Engineering LLC. The Kalininskaya nuclear power plant is a branch of the JSC "Concern Rosenergoatom". The station is located in the north of the Tver region in the Udomelskiy area. There are four power units with water-cooled power reactors (VVER-1000) with installed capacity of 1000 MW each in the structure of the Kalininskaya nuclear power station.
