The public inspection participants made themselves sure in Kursk nuclear plant safe operation. They announced about it on April 19 after visiting a number of facilities included into the NPP. 

The representatives of executive and legislative branches of Kursk region, social, scientific and medical organizations, higher educational establishments, Federal, district and local ones, tested the work of Kursk NPP radiation control system, examined the safety systems as well as the systems important for safety: reserve diesel stations, cooling ponds, diesel-generator unit, containers with diesel fuel, containers with pure condensate, systems of reactor emergency cooling, management and reliable supply complexes.

In the hardened control center on NPP territory the inspection participants checked the readiness to react in emergencies of the forces and the plant free-lance emergency subdivisions, and performed the testing of environment radiation control system in the laboratories of outer radiation control and got acquainted with laboratory and automated methods of environmental control, standards of the branch and also with the website http://www.russianatom.ru/ and the central office of the automated system of radiation control (ASKRO). The results of environmental facilities radiation control, permits, certificates of the laboratory accreditation, reports on the situation with environmental protection were presented to the group.

In Kursk NPP education and training centre the inspection participants witnessed the personnel trainings on a full-scale imitator of power unit No. 4, watching one of the sceneries of the reaction to a hypothetical emergency situation at a power unit.

ТWe received convincing information concerning Kursk NPP safe operation. The accidents like Fukushima one are impossible here. The fact, that the plant reliability is constantly improved at the modernization expense, the systematic analyses of hypothetical emergency situations and the ways to overcome them successfully is in progress, guarantees itУ, - Deputy of Kursk Region Duma Andrey Lifintsev summed it up.
