On a building site of the Leningrad NPP-2 in the building of the power unit No. 1 reactor consoles of subcrane beams of the polar crane has been mounted and concreted. Works on a boring of openings for fixture of beams to consoles have been begun. 

Works on installation of subcrane beams will be extended until the end of October, then specialists will start installation of a subcrane rail. In December the integrated bridge of the polar crane by means of the heavy crawler crane Liebherr LR 11350 will be established on a regular place on the building of the reactor of the power unit No. 1 on a mark of +40,30 m. Upon termination of installation the total weight of the polar crane will make 385 tons.

In the period of nuclear station construction the polar crane load-carrying capacity of 360 tons will carry out hoisting-and-transport transactions, including installation of all heavy equipment in the reactor hall (cases of the reactor, steam generators, the jack, the main circulating pipelines and pumps). Thanks to movement on a circular crane way it can carry out handling works in any point of the reactor building.

After input of the Leningrad NPP-2 in operation the polar crane will be used when carrying out repair work.
