On May 5 Rostov NPP to Stop Unit 1 for Scheduled Maintenance

On May 5, 2012 Rostov 1 will be stopped and disconnected from the power supply system for the scheduled maintenance and technical inspection of the basic facility.

The scheduled outage will be performed in accordance with the approved program of Rosenergoatom Concern OJSC, and in coordination with the Joint Bulk Power Control of the South (ODU Yuga). It is planned to carry out the work program within six days, after which the first power unit will be restarted again.

During the holidays the Unit 2 will be operated at the capacity complying with the dispatched schedule.

Rostov NPP is a branch of Rosenergoatom Concern OJSC. The enterprise is situated on the bank of Tsimlyansk Reservoir at 13,5 km from Volgodonsk. The NPP operates two power units with VVER-1000 reactors with the capacity of 1,000 MW. The Unit 1 was commissioned in 2001 and the Unit 2 Р in December 2010. The Power Units 3 and 4 are nowadays under construction.
