On Kola NPP there has successfully held the all-plant fire-prevention training

On May 18, 2011 an all-plant fire-prevention training was held at the on Kola NPP which included the measures to be taken in conditions of the forest fire in the territory adjoining the objects of the enterprise and activities to create fire-prevention ruptures.


6 Fire Brigade units of the Kola NPP protection have been involved in the exercises besides the personnel of nuclear station.


Tactical training was a success, and the actions of 6 Fire Brigade units of the Kola NPP protection and the experts of the NPP have shown, that fire formations of Plant would cope with extreme situations which can take place during the fire-dangerous period.

Kola NPP is a branch of Rosenergoatom Concern OJSC. The plant is located 200 km to the south of Murmansk on the bank of Lake Imandra. Power unit No.1 of Kola NPP was commissioned in 1973. Currently, the plant operates 4 power units with VVER-type reactors. Each reactor has capacity of 440 mW. Kola NPP supplies power for Murmansk region and Karelia.
