On June 3, on the eve of the World Day of Environmental Protection ТEcological CityУ was opened in the city of atomists. This is a traditional name for the first change in the upbringing and educational children recreation camp ТRodnichokУ.

In the course of 18 years of the camp successful work about 2,160 of its participants could improve the level of their knowledge in the field of ecologic and environmental protection, took part in solution of up-to-date ecological problems. 

But this season appears for ТRodnichokУ to be a special one. The matter is that this year Novovoronezh House of ChildrenХs Arts became the winner of Rosatom State Corporation contest of socially significant projects.

The industry gave the monetary sources for the organization of a substantial recreation not only for the nuclear plantХs children, but mostly for those of paid from the state budget. According to Camp Head Marina Sverchkova said, the children were to attend the lessons in the forest school and the school of nuclear power, watch educational and thematic films in the cinema and meet with the first constructors of Novovoronezh NPP and their parents were to work in the club ТPeaceful Atom - Peaceful NeighbourhoodУ. Also multiple excursions were awaiting for them: to Voronezh information centre on nuclear power, NV NPP museum, to the scenic viewpoint of NV NPP under construction, to the Botanic Gardens of VSU, on the green places of the city and region.

Deputy of Novovoronezh City Duma, Engineer on fifth power unit turbinesХ operation Valentina Kudryavtseva, candidate of biological sciences, docent of Voronezh Technological Academy Evgeny Sklyadnev, specialists of the Department of Environmental Protection and public information centre, representatives of the city administration and teachers took part in the ceremony of ТEcological CityУ opening. Many of them are going to take part in the project implementation.
