On May 19, 2011, a public action ТFrom Peter to the NucleusУ was held in the large hall of Novovoronezh city recreation centre. The event was organized by Novovoronezh NPP public information centre and Voronezh regional branch of ТGreen PlanetУ VRO OOED (all Russian social children ecological movement). Students of Novovoronezh polytechnic college, pupils of the city schools and NVNPP specialists of the department for environmental protection took part in the action.

The project called ТFrom Peter to the NucleusУ is of ecological and regional trend and connected with the widely celebrated 425th anniversary of Voronezh city.

In the appearance of Head of all Russian social children ecological movement ТGreen PlanetУ Elena Pavlenko it was underlined that Voronezh was not only the cradle of Russian navy constructed by Peter I for his Azov campaign, but also the native city for nuclear power with VVER-reactors. All the power units of the plant on the Don were pilot and heading ones.

The action participants took the appearance of Head of City History Teachers Methodical Association Raisa Voronina and the presentation of the regional contest ТHistory of Voronezh CityУ winner, 10th grade pupil Elena Pershina, ТFrom Peter to the NucleusУ with a great interest.

The ТSong of Voronezh regionУ performed by soloist of academic chorus Nina Khripunova decorated the event.

The award of the winners of the contest ТPer Aspera ad AstraУ, devoted to the 50th anniversary of Jury GagarinХs flight, was held at the end of the action. It was the joint event of Novovoronezh NPP public information centre and ТGreen PlanetУ VRO OOED, too.
