Novovoronezh NPP: a surveillance audit of the environmental management system has been started
On July 4 an audit for compliance with GOST R ISO 14001-2007 and the Compulsory Environmental Certification System was started at Novovoronezh NPP.
The audit began from the initial meeting with the participation of the NPP management and heads of divisions. The group of auditors was headed by independent management system certification system expert from DQS LLC Lyumila Kozlova.
Deputy Chief Engineer of Novovoronezh NPP for safety and reliability Alexander Prytkov noted: ТAlong with production target a lot has been done for promotion of the environmental management system (EMS) at Novovoronezh NPP. Now EMS is being widely implemented at the nuclear power plant divisions. We see that successful production activity is impossible without successful functioning of the environmental management systemУ.
Chairman of the auditorsХ group Lyudmila Kozlova distinguished good utility practices of information support of EMS at Novovoronezh NPP. She appreciated timely delivery of information by running letters, informative and colorful stands on ecological topics located at the gate houses of the NPP power units.
The auditors also reviewed the work of Novovoronezh NPP Public Information Centre aimed at environmental management system promotion among the population of Novovoronezh and Voronezh region.
At the IV industrial forum of Voronezh region which took place in February 2011, Novovoronezh NPP was represented at a specialized exhibition called ТEcology in the IndustryУ, its specialists took part in a discussion on ТThe Russian Federation Environmental Policy Framework up to 2030У. Report-presentation of Head of environmental protection department Olga Romanova received wide acclaim due to intelligible and meaningful information provided.
