An exhibition of folk art, which veterans dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the Concern Rosenergoatom and 55th year of Novovoronezh, was opened in the Council of Veterans of Novovoronezh NPP.



The exhibition includes embroidered paintings made by Raisa Stolyarova, Nadezhda Smolyaninova, Iraida Orlova, Lyudmila Belovodenko and other masters. They say that talented people are talented in everything. This was confirmed by the couple Grechishkins Р Viktor and Galina. Viktor is not only a famous chess player in our city, winner of many chess tournaments, but as it turned out, he also draws well. His wife embroiders pictures crosswise and beads them according to his sketches. Now her husband became interested in these crafts. They submitted several beautiful works made mutually to approval of the audience.

Works of woodcarvers, Nikolay Chernykh and Leonid Grechikhin, kindled great visitorsХ interest. Without doubt, a veteran of the nuclear industry, Nikolay Chernykh, couldnХt but depict the home industry in his art: his carved picture is called ТNovovoronezh NPPУ; other works also necessarily include the nuclear issue. Rigorous, toilsome work of decoupage masters, Irina Novikova and Nadezhda Bondarenko, also enraptures. One canХt overpass the board made of straw by Stanislav Stolyarov. 

Such exhibitions have helped many amateur masters to find the deserved recognition and success not only among their countrymen, but also outside the region.

ТWhen in 2010 we participated in the exhibition of folk art in Kursk,У told Chairman of the Council of Veterans of Novovoronezh NPP, Andrey Skabovsky, Тand submitted 18 works of our craftsmen, we have endlessly been asked to sell this or that work asking the price. I answered them: it is not for sale, it is pricelessЙУ

At the opening of the exhibition, another group of folk craftsmen was invited Р peopleХs vocal ensemble ТRossiyanochkaУ. The ensemble is a winner of many competitions and festivals. V Festival of Patriotic Programs ТThe Light of My RussiaУ, where ТRossiyanichkaУ will participate as part of Novovoronezh delegation, will take place in Desnogorsk in November of the current year.

Head of the city, Head of the Public Information Centre of NV NPP, Yuri Pegusov, noted that having taken the well-deserved rest, atomic veterans had transferred their working energy to art. He wished the folk craftsmen further success in the work and good health.

Authors of those works, which the audience will recognize as the best, will be eligible to take part in III Festival of Folk Art ТThe Energy of LifeУ.



Novovoronezh NPP is a branch of Rosenergoatom Concern OJSC. The plant is situated on the bank of the Don river at 42 km south of Voronezh. It is the first NPP in Russia, which operates reactors of VVER-type (Vessel type Pressurized Water Reactor with light water under pressure). Each of the five plant reactors are prime Р a prototype of serial power reactors: No.1 power unit operates on VVER-210-type reactor, No.2 power unit Р VVER-365, No.3,4 power units Р VVER-440, No.5 power unit Р VVER-1000.

At present, three power units are under operation (units 1 and 2 were stopped in 1984 and 1990, respectively).
