An installation of the basic engineering equipment of NPPХs containment area of Unit 1 has begun at Novovoronezh II. Prior to this event, a polar crane has been started in the containment area. Another important event associated with Unit 1 will take place in August: builders complete the construction of the cooling tower, the planned height of which amounts to 171 m.

As it was noted at the meeting of the Operation Headquarters of NV NPP II construction, where the involved were the representatives of the State Nuclear Energy Corporation Rosatom, Rosenergoatom Concern OJSC, JSC Atomenergoproyekt, contracting organizations, producers and suppliers of the equipment, the construction of Unit 2 has been going at a good bat. A mounting of the combined 4-5 tier containment vessel, which is planned to be completed in a short time, was started last week. Optimization takes place within the framework of the pilot project implementation of Rosatom Production System.

Currently, on the site of Novovoronezh II (general designer and contractor Р JSC Atomenergoproyekt, Moscow) about 201 facilities are under construction, which in total employ more than 5 thousand professionals. It is almost 1,000 more that in August of last year.
