On the base of sanatorium-preventorium Lake Kopen of Leningrad NPP there were held traditional competitions on ice fishing Sosnovoborsk Fishing Р 2012 for the Cup of the Head of Sosnovoborsk urban district and prizes of Leningrad NPP Head.
32 teams and more than 50 participants registered to participate in the competitions, in total 150 fishermen-athletes. Teams LNPP-1, LNPP-2 and LNPP-Auto participated on behalf of nuclear scientists. Among the winners, only one of these teams took the 3rd prize Р Directorate of LNPP-2, which is under construction at present. The main Cup of the competitions was won by the Vehemence amateur fishermen picked team.

Also traditionally there were awarded prizes  in additional nominations, such as: For the Biggest (260g) and Smallest (2,5g) Fish; the WomenХs Picked Team; the Youngest and Oldest participants; the Stubs-200 Oldest Team, and some others - the total age of fishermen made 200 years old (!).

For Sosnovoborsk citizens the traditional competition Sosnovoborsk Ice Fishing became a good reason to make a family trip to Lake Kopen in recent years.

Annually on the shore of the most beautiful lake of Leningrad Region, in the LNPP sanatorium-preventorium territory, with common efforts of the city administration and nuclear power plant there is organized a mass health care day for citizens, which alongside with fishing has an entertainment program, like skating, ice hill, riding a snowmobile and donut tubes, field kitchen with hot tea, and food, and drinks. Organizers traditionally regaled all the participants and guests with fish soup.

Fishermen, spectators and fans made sure that the catch was ecologically clean, at the same time a promotional event Pure Nature was held. All-comers were demonstrated the results of measurements of radiation background on the shore, lake surface and fish caught under the ice, everywhere it matched the norms.
