Leningrad NPP Employees Participate in City Clean-up

On May 12, 2012 about 200 employees of Leningrad NPP took part in the city clean-up removing debris from the coastal strip of the Gulf of Finland, and refining the memorial avenue of limes near the SKK Energetik (Sports and Concert Complex Energetik). The action was timed to the 20th anniversary of Rosenergoatom Concern.

Leningrad NPP traditionally helps the city to maintain the local landscapes in their original form. As employees themselves note, it is easier and faster to perform it by efforts of large companies.

According to the master of the Administrative and Household Department of Leningrad NPP Valery Kochnev, the clean-up on the Gulf of Finland was attended by more than 150 people. ТWe were tasked to clean the coastal sandy strip of about 2 km in length and 200 m large. But so as there are too much rubbish, having consulted, we have taken Тhigher responsibilitiesУ and decided also to clean the forest belt area,У he noted.

In 40 minutes after the clean-up start, 600 sacks were filled in with different types of rubbish.

A the same time another team of the plantХs workers participated in the environmental action Pure Nature, timed to the 20th anniversary of Rosenergoatom Concern. This year it was aimed at refining the avenue of limes alongside the Leningrad Street in the centre of the city.

This avenue is remarkable because in 2005 the lime seeds were planted by the participants of the International Maxi-Marathon in support of the nuclear power engineering and safety. More than 20 delegations from different countries of the world planted trees those days in Sosnovy Bor. Over the years the trees have grown and become strong, but according to city landscapers, they needed some intensive care Р renovation of stakes and tying.

As a result, the avenue was strengthened and decorated with a symbol of the 20th anniversary of Rosenergoatom Concern.
