On May 26, 2012 in Kurchatov at the stadium ТEnergetikУ, there was held a solemn opening of the VII Summer Spartakiad ТSports NPP Р 2012У of employees of nuclear power plants.

There participate about 400 athletes included in 10 teams Р the representatives of the nuclear power industry enterprises and the Central Office of Rosenergoatom Concern OJSC.

The competitions are carried out in team classification and individual championship in 10 sports: track and field, swimming, volleyball, basketball, tennis, mini-football, kettlebell lifting, ping-pong, beach volleyball and tug of war. 

At the ceremony of solemn opening, Director of Kursk NPP, Vyacheslav Fedyukin addressed with greetings to the participants and guests of Spartakiad. He wished the athletes honest and straight-out struggle, as well as success in the tournament and high achievements.

ТItХs not only the promotion of physical training and sports, but also strengthening of our common corporate spirit, global union within the one concern and nuclear power industry in general. All this is especially important in the year of the 20th anniversary of Rosenergoatom Concern.У

In their addressing to the participants, Advisor to General Director of Rosenergoatom Concern, Oleg Zheltov, and Head of the Sports Committee of the Kursk region Administration, Alexander Morkovchin stressed the social significance of Spartakiad, traditionally spent in satellite cities of NPPs.

Sports competitions will end on May 29.


 
At the present time, Kursk NPP operates the power units No.2, 3 and 4. The power unit No.1 is under the scheduled midlife maintenance. Actual load complies with the dispatch schedule. The radiation background corresponds to the level of power unitsХ normal operation and does not exceed the natural environmental values.
