Kursk NPP: Director of Nuclear Power Plant Awards Money Certificate to Kurchatov High School 1

On September 1, 2012 Director of Kursk NPP, Vyacheslav Fedyukin, took part in the celebration dedicated to the Day of Knowledge and 40th anniversary of Kurchatov High School 1.

Vyacheslav Fedyukin congratulated the teaching staff, school veterans, parents and pupils, and handed a money certificate to Director of the high school, Oksana Govorova, for the purchase of the educational equipment.



ТI think it is symbolic that today, on September 1, the wonderful holiday Р the Day of Knowledge, our first high school celebrates its anniversary. This educational institution has always been the first in everything. Forty years ago, in the period of rapid construction of the nuclear power plant and atomic city, there had been constructed the first school attached to Kursk NPP, which became the ancestor of all the city schools. On behalf of the staff of Kursk NPP, I congratulate all of you with this remarkable event and wish you new achievements, success and progress,У said V. Fedyukin.

Kursk nuclear power plant and High School 1 have been maintaining close relationship since long ago. It is the first school in the city, which had been established attached to Kursk NPP, and which later received a status of a high school. Since the moment of opening, three thousand pupils, including 377 medalists (212 gold and 165 silver medals) left the school. The high school was awarded the PresidentХs Grant within the priority national project ТEducationУ; the school is a winner of the regional competition ТThe Best Schools of Russia-2010У. 21 teacher of the school is a winner of the highest qualification category, 5 teachers were awarded the Presidential Grant.



The longtime partner of High School 1 is a Council of Veterans of Kursk NPP, which acts as a sponsor. Head of the veteran organization, Yevgeny Kozarezov, congratulated the teachers, pupils and parents with the remarkable date and beginning of the new academic year, and presented gifts.

First Deputy Governor of the Kursk region, Alexander Zubarev, Head of Kurchatov, Igor Korpunkov and First Head of the Construction Management of Kursk NPP, Yevgeny Ipatov, who had directly supervised the construction of the school in 1972, congratulated the high school staff.

That day the high school pupils, who reached 14 years old, were solemnly handed passports of the citizen of the Russian Federation.
