On May 26-27, 2011 Department of supervising activity of the Ministry of the Russian Federation for Civil Defense, Emergency Management and Natural Disasters Response (EMERCOM) together with the Department of supervising activity of the Main Directorate of EMERCOM for the Kursk Region inspected the readiness of the Kursk NPP provide fire safety during the spring-and-summer period.

Representatives of EMERCOM have checked the realization of the actions provided by the interdepartmental decision of the EMERCOM, State Corporation ТRosatomУ, Rosenergoatom Concern OJSC (letter as of 06.05.2011 ? 43-1948-18). Among them - actions for provision of fire safety in case of extreme situations connected with fires, and measures to perfect fire-prevention.

Following the check the readiness of the Kursk NPP is confirmed: to provide fire safety.

Other NPPs of Rosenergoatom Concern OJSC were also cheeked. The inspection results will be generalized and sent to Rosenergoatom Concern OJSC

At present Kursk NPP operates power units Nos. 1,3 and 4. Their capacity corresponds to the dispatch schedule. Power unit No.2 has been under scheduled maintenance repair since April 22, 2011.
