On April 21, 2012 Kursk 2 was restarted after the scheduled maintenance.

The unit restarting has been implemented as per the process regulations requirements on the safe operation.
The power unit passed through the regular maintenance checks and standard scope of equipment maintenance.  
Currently, Kursk NPP operates Units 2, 3 and 4. They operate at the capacity established by the dispatch schedule.
Since April 3 of the current year, the Unit 1 has been being under the scheduled midlife repair.

The radiation background at the nuclear power plant and the adjacent territory corresponds to the level of power unitsХ normal operation and does not exceed the natural environmental values.
