Kursk NPP Becomes Prize Winner of XII Interregional Universal Wholesale and Retail Kursk Korenskaya Fair
By tradition, Kursk NPP took part in the XII interregional universal wholesale and retail Kursk Korenskaya Fair, which took place on June 14-17, 2012 in the borough Svoboda of Zolotukhinskiy district of the Kursk region.
Kursk Korenskaya Fair is one of the largest international economic forums, which is traditionally organized in the Central Black Earth Region. This year more than 1200 economic entities of the industry, agricultural sector, construction and construction industry, small and medium business, culture and sports of Russia, CIS and foreign countries were represented. Kursk NPP represented Rosenergoatom Concern OJSC in the number of energy and industrial enterprises of the Kursk region.
Exposition of Kursk NPP was devoted to various aspects of safe and reliable operation of the nuclear power plant, where the particular attention was given to increasing of the energy efficiency and innovative activities in the nuclear industry. The company was represented by Director of Kursk NPP, Vyacheslav Fedyukin.
During all the Fair days there was carried out work on informing the visitors of the exposition about the use of nuclear energy for peaceful purposes. In the accessible and visible form, the participants and guests of Kursk Korenskaya Fair had an opportunity to learn about modernization and reconstruction of the power units of Kursk NPP, radiation and environmental safety in the area of its location, RAW and SNF handling, safety culture, occupational safety and health, social policy and other important areas of the activities of the largest in the region energy enterprise of the nuclear industry.
By the results of the XII Kursk Korenskaya Fair, a branch of Rosenergoatom Concern Р Kursk nuclear power plant Р was awarded with a Certificate of the Prize Winner. At the solemn closing ceremony, Director of Kursk NPP, V.Fedyukin, was rewarded with a certificate by Governor of the Kursk region, Alexander Mikhailov. Kursk NPP-Service Ltd. received a medal in the nomination ТTrade and Public Catering ServicesУ.
At the present time, Kursk NPP operates the power units No.2, 3 and 4. The units work at the capacity rated by the dispatch schedule. The power unit No.1 has been being under the scheduled midlife maintenance.
The radiation background in the area of Kursk NPP and the adjacent territory corresponds to the level of power unitsХ normal operation and does not exceed the natural environmental values.
