Kola NPP: ТSalmaУ Starts New Winter Season

On November 3, the ski complex ТSalmaУ* (Kola NPP) opens the new winter season.

For the atomic city and the whole Murmansk region, the coming season is marked by the milestone event Р unusual competitions will be held on the hillsides of the ski complex ТSalmaУ. First in the history, the Russian Cup in alpine skiing among the disabled persons will be held on the territory of ТSalmaУ. In particular, hard-of-hearing athletes will compete in the Тgiant slalomУ and Тspecial slalomУ. The competitions will be held by the Deaflimpics Committee of Russia in collaboration with the Alpine Skiing and Snowboarding Federation of the country.

 In the middle of January, there will be held the alpine skiing competitions for the prize of Kola NPP Director, according to the long-established tradition. In March, Polyarnye Zori will host the Championship of Russia in three disciplines: Тsuper-giantУ, Тgiant slalomУ and ТslalomУ.

Also ТSalmaУ will host competitions of various statuses among children and juniors: from the local competitions and regional Championships to the All-Russian competitions.

During the season, the hillsides of the Bald Mountain will be available not only for professionals, but also for the amateurs of alpine skiing and snowboarding.

On November 3, the ski complex ТSalmaУ (Kola NPP) again opens for daily skiing.

Kola NPP is a branch of Rosenergoatom Concern OJSC. The plant is located 200 km to the south of Murmansk on the bank of Lake Imandra. It produces about 60% of electricity of Murmansk region. Currently, the plant operates 4 power units with VVER-type reactors. Each reactor has capacity of 440 MW. Kola NPP supplies power for Murmansk region and Karelia.
