Kola NPP: turbine generator TG-6 of power unit No. 3 has been connected to the grid

On June 19 at 07:17 p.m. TG-6 of Kola NPP power unit No. 3 was connected to the grid.

At present Kola NPP operates power units Nos. 2, 3 and 4, the total loading being equal to 883 MW in compliance with the dispatch schedule. No violations of limits and safe operation conditions were detected.

The radiation background at the plant and the adjacent territory corresponds to normal operation level and does not exceed the natural environmental values.

Kola NPP is a branch of Rosenergoatom Concern OJSC. The plant is located 200 km to the south of Murmansk on the bank of Lake Imandra. Power unit No.1 of Kola NPP was commissioned in 1973. Currently, the plant operates 4 power units with VVER-type reactors. Each reactor has capacity of 440 mW. Kola NPP supplies power for Murmansk region and Karelia.
