Kola NPP: results of the ТPower of the NorthР 2011У contest have been summarized

On April 26, 2011 the rewarding ceremony for the winners of Children artistic creativity city contest ТPower of the NorthР 2011У, devoted to the 38th anniversary of the first KNPP power unit and the 20th anniversary of the city, was held at Public Information Center of Kola NPP.

Every spring the results of the city contest of artistic creativity ТPower of the NorthУ are traditionally held in Polyarnye Zori city.  

Over 200 children in the age from 4 to 18 had been preparing their pieces of art to present them at the court of competent jury. The young citizens of Polyarnye Zory were competing in the nominations: drawing decoration and literature creativity. 

The contest was opened with the work ТCloudberry has RipenedУ of 4-year-old participant Anna Suslova, who guided by teacher of preschool establishment No.5 Galina Rydzeleva drew the thing Kola Polar region was impossible without.

ТAll the works presented at the competition have been exhibited in Kola NPP Public Information Centre since this day. The best of them were sent to Sosnovy Bor of Leningrad region for it to participate in IX International Artistic Project ТWe are the children of Atomic cityУ, the results of which will be known in JuneУ, Head of Public Information Center Viktoria Nigorenko told us.

Kola NPP is a branch of Rosenergoatom Concern OJSC. The plant is located 200 km to the south of Murmansk on the bank of Lake Imandra. Power unit No.1 of Kola NPP was commissioned in 1973. Currently, the plant operates 4 power units with VVER-type reactors. Each reactor has capacity of 440 mW. Kola NPP supplies power for Murmansk region and Karelia.
