Kola NPP: 655.5 bln kWh of electric power were generated in June of 2011

In June of 2011 Kola NPP generated 655.5 bln kWh of electric power, which is by 23.7 mln kWh more than the amount generated for the same period of the previous year.

In all since the NPP startup more than 344 bln kWh of electric power have been generated.

As of July 1 the plant operates power units Nos. 2, 3 and 4. Power unit No. 1 is under scheduled repair. According to the dispatch schedule the plant load is equal to 883 MW.

The radiation environment in the area of Kola NPP location and the 30-km control area does not exceed the natural background values.

Kola NPP is a branch of Rosenergoatom Concern OJSC. The plant is located 200 km to the south of Murmansk on the bank of Lake Imandra. Power unit No.1 of Kola NPP was commissioned in 1973. Currently, the plant operates 4 power units with VVER-type reactors. Each reactor has capacity of 440 mW. Kola NPP supplies power for Murmansk region and Karelia.
