Kola NPP Holds Staff Conference

On May 24 Kola NPP held a staff conference on summing up the collective bargaining agreement for 2011.

Each subdivision of the plant delegated its representatives for the participation at the conference, where they discussed the foundational document regulating social and labour relations between employees and the companyХs management. Also the present were the representatives of the trade union organization of Kola NPP.

All the commitments and terms of the collective bargaining agreement in 2011 in all areas have been fulfilled by the administration.

One of the main positions of the collective bargaining agreement fulfilling is the economic component. Last year Kola NPP produced 10,5 billion kWh of electric power.

Literally, the outstanding success of Kola NPP was achieved in RAW processing. The one and only LRW processing complex of Kola NPP for today has already allowed to get almost a thousand of tons of nonradioactive industrial wastes Р pure salts. Director of Kola NPP branch, Vasiliy Omelchuk, on this occasion said: ТWe already do not accumulate liquid radioactive wastes, but get rid of them transforming them into industrial nonradioactive wastes. And this is an outstanding success indeed.У

The process of equipment upgrading aimed at safety and reliability improving is taking place at the plant. The number of measures to improve safety grows each year, as well as the amount of funds allocated for these purposes. Last year on the program of capital investments, Kola NPP implemented the entire volume of the planned investment projects worth 2 billion rubles.

The programs on occupational safety and health of employees were implemented in the full volume. Kola NPP pays particular attention to the material assistance to its staff. The already impressive package of social welfare benefits set forth in the collective agreement, next year will be completed with a number of new positions. Thus, the plantХs employees will receive by 50 thousand rubles for the birth of a child. The procedure and amount of one-time payments for the youth, which arrives to work at the plant, will change. Regardless of the position of young professionals admitted at Kola NPP, the assignment allowance will amount to 50 thousand rubles.   

The outcome of the conference Р by the unanimous decision of the delegates, the collective bargaining agreement for 2011 was recognized as implemented. Also at the conference, from Kola NPP there were chosen the delegates to attend the conference of Rosenergoatom Concern OJSC to be held in late May at Kalinin NPP.  

Kola NPP is a branch of Rosenergoatom Concern OJSC. The plant is located 200 km to the south of Murmansk on the bank of Lake Imandra. It produces about 60% of electricity of Murmansk region. Currently, the plant operates 4 power units with VVER-type reactors. Each reactor has capacity of 440 MW. Kola NPP supplies power for Murmansk region and Karelia.
