Kalinino NPP has successfully completed the planned emergency response exercise

On April 10, 2012 Kalinino NPP successfully completed the planned emergency response exercise involving a group for emergency assistance to nuclear power plants (EANPP).

The purpose of training is assessment of readiness of the nuclear power plant staff for management, localization and liquidation of emergency situation, check of the existing system of emergency planning in Rosenergoatom Concern, as well as working out the interaction between members of emergency response, check of readiness and skills of the Kalinino NPP staff to act in emergency situation.

Summing up results of the last training session, Anatoliy Lupishko, its head on behalf of Kalinino NPP, a Deputy Chief Engineer of the nuclear power plant for safety and reliability, noted that all the assigned tasks were completed. ТAs a result, testing the interaction between the expert groups and staff of KNPP, the plant staff have demonstrated a good level of training, all its actions were correct and timely," he said.

 ТNext year Kalinino NPP will pass full sized command-staff exercises (CSE).  Today's exercise can be considered as a preparatory step for them," said the Deputy Chief Engineer for safety and reliability of the nuclear power plant.
 
Kalinino NPP is a branch of Rosenergoatom Concern OJSC. The Plant is situated on the north of the Tver Region in Udomelsk district. Kalinino NPP includes four power units with pressurized water reactors (VVER-1000) each one having a capacity of 1000 MW. Implementation of a multistage program of the energy start-up continues its realization on the 4th power unit, which start-up took place on November2011.
