Kalinin NPP: the plan of electric power generation and supply has been fulfilled ahead of schedule

On June 28, 2011 at 08: 53 a.m., Kalinin NPP fulfilled the monthly plan of electric power generation. It was equal to 1.990 bln kWh. 1 881 bln kWh was supplied to the energy system.

In 2011 the plant is to generate 22.665 bln kWh of electric power and to supply the consumers with 21.471 bln kWh. Increasing the generation by 1.5% is an additional obligation assumed in the process of Rosatom production system realization at KNPP.

The priority tasks of the second half year for the personnel of Kalinin NPP are successful fulfillment of repair campaign, which starts on July 2, and also the commissioning of power unit No. 4 within the established time limit.

The radiation background in the area of the nuclear power plant location and in the adjacent territory corresponds to the normal operation of power units and does not exceed the natural background values.

Kalinin NPP is a branch of Rosenergoatom Concern OJSC. The plant is situated in the north of Tver region in Udomlya district. Kalinin nuclear power plant comprises three operating power units with pressurized water reactors (VVER-1000) of 1,000 mW capacity each. Power unit No. 4 is under construction now and is to be commissioned in 2011.

Timely information about the radiation environment near Russian NPPs and other objects of the nuclear industry is available in the site www.russianatom.ru.
