Kalinin NPP: WANO district seminar has been finished

WANO district seminar gathered the best experts in the field of engineering support from the six countries Р Russia, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Czechia, Hungary and Slovakia at the site of Kalinin NPP. From April 11 to 15, more than 20 specialists were discussing the questions of organization and functioning of engineering and technical support services.

ТIt is of great significance for us that this WANO district seminar with the topic which has been so called-up and important recently is held on the territory of our plantУ, Chief Engineer Mikhail Kanyshev commented on in the last meeting. ТWhy are the specialists and engineering and technical support services on the whole important and significant? To my mind, it is the structure, the functions of which are in generalization, analysis and provision for introduction of events important for safety. If the events become common for the NPP, at first, it will prove the unity of the technical policy, and secondly, it will undoubtedly add to the nuclear plant power unitsХ reliability and safety.У

This is the first WANO seminar on this topic, up to present only the missions of technical support have been held with a more limited attendance. Within several days the experts were sharing their experience and opinions. Besides, the guests went on a technical tour to KNPP operating power units and to the site of the forth power unit under construction.

ТWe have achieved the main purpose of the seminarУ,  Councilor of WANO Moscow Center Anatoly Zinchenko noted, summarizing the meeting results. ТAnd the purpose was as follows: to exchange the information, to find common solutions, to work out recommendations and proposals, which would be worked out by the plants and their operating organizations in the future. I give thanks to Kalinin NPP for the reception and wonderful working conditionsУ.

Kalinin NPP is a branch of Rosenergoatom Concern OJSC. The plant is situated in the north of Tver region in Udomlya district.
