Kalinin NPP: Kalinin NPP Identifies Winners of International Project ТToday ItХs Fantasy, Tomorrow Р RealityУ

On September 28, 2012 at the Public Information Centre of Kalinin nuclear power plant there took place a debriefing and awarding of winners of the international creative and educational project ТToday ItХs a Fantasy, Tomorrow Р a RealityУ.

Holding of the contest has become another large-scale event undertaken by Kalinin NPP in celebration of the 20th anniversary of Rosenergoatom Concern OJSC and putting of Unit 4 into commercial operation. The contest has passed for the third time, its topic Р ТPalette of NPP: Traditions, Modernity and the FutureУ.

This year the contest has gained the international status. Its goal was to create a single creative space between the Russian and foreign regions of nuclear enterprisesХ location. Taken part in the project were: the general contractor of Kalinin NPP Unit 4 construction - the engineering company JSC NIAEP, Nizhny Novgorod Information Centre for Nuclear Energy as well as the Joint-Stock Company for power generation - NPP Akkuyu (Turkey). Thus, to the permanent members of the project Р senior pupils of 8th-11th forms of Udomlya, there have joined pupils of 9-14 years old from the future atomic cities of the Nizhny Novgorod region and Turkish Province Mersin.

The children took part in the rich educational program, which included master classes on the art of photography and drawing, studio shooting and ability to work with graphic editors, photo and isopleners as well as tours to historical places, museums of local lore and regional centres of information. On the basis of the knowledge received, the participants made contest works according to one of two nominations: photo collage and drawing.

According to the contest results, the winners in the nomination ТDrawingУ were Emre Furkan Uzel (Turkey), Yasemin Kutan (Turkey), Hilal Goktas (Turkey), Anastasia Kakaulina (Udomlya); in the nomination of ТPhoto CollageУ Р Antonina Kryazheva (Nizhny Novgorod), Yelizaveta Smirnova (Udomlya). At the solemn meeting in honor of the Day of the Nuclear Worker, Kalinin NPP Director, Mikhail Kanyshev, handed certificates and gifts to the project winners.

The works of the winners and other participants of the contest are represented at the travelling exhibition located at present at PIC of Kalinin NPP. In the future it is planned to hold the exhibition of the contest works at PICs of Nizhny Novgorod and the Turkish Republic.



Kalinin NPP is a branch of Rosenergoatom Concern OJSC. The Plant is situated on the north of the Tver Region in Udomelsk district. Kalinin NPP includes four power units with pressurized water reactors (VVER-1000) each one having the installed capacity of 1,000 MW each.
