Kalinin NPP Holds Telebridge Dedicated to Victory day

On May 5, 2012 on the eve of the Victory Day, Kalinin NPP traditionally took part in the telebridge of Rosenergoatom Concern, dedicated to the 67th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War.

In this milestone for the Concern year, the video conference has linked 11 nuclear power plants, and Baltic NPP under construction has joined itself to the holiday as well. The Kalinin NPP conference hall gathered veterans, representatives of veteran organizations, management of the plant, trade union and youth organizations.

The telelbridge was opened with the congratulatory word of the General Director of Rosenergoatom Concern OJSC Yevgeniy Romanov. He noted: ТThe Victory in May of 1945 signified not only the end of the war, but also the beginning of a fast transition to a peaceful life. And today employees of the Concern are proud to continue the traditions of the legendary generation, which stood at the origins of peaceful uses of atomic energy in Russia.У Memory of the fallen in the Great Patriotic War was honored by a minute of silence.

Each nuclear power plant told about the support to veterans, organization of search teams, opening of Military Glory museums, and patriotic education of youth. All representatives of nuclear power plants expressed deep gratitude to the common people, veterans who had had to endure pain and suffering, but who had managed to save an incredible love to life, for future generations, and their own rough but heroic beautiful youth. Kalinin NPP in its videos told how the up-to-date students kept memory about their grandfathers.
Veterans are the living witnesses of such terrible historic events as the Great Patriotic War. We still may get acquainted with them and hear the mere truth about it from their own lips. This pain of the bygone, preserved in the stories, photographs, and letters from the front, will tell better than any textbook about the heroism of our nation. The Director of Kalinin NPP Mikhail Kanyshev noted: ТThe evidences of the great overcoming and human feat will remain as one of the reliable fundamentals in education of youth. Events live as long as they are remembered. And our goal is to preserve the history of the country for the future generations.У ThatХs why this year on basis of the Public Information Centre of Kalinin NPP there will be opened a museum of Military Glory.

After the official part of the telebridge, the meeting has been continued for a cup of tea. The Chairman of the Council of Veterans of Udomelsky district A.V. Zhuravleva thanked the management of the plant for the charitable aid, similar meetings, attention to veterans. The Deputy Director for Staff Management M.V. Karaseva addressed to veterans asking to help in collecting the exhibit items for the future museum of Military Glory, opening of which was planned for June 22, 2012.

At the end of the event, veterans have been presented flowers and memorable gifts as a sign of gratitude for their feat in the years of the Great Patriotic War.
