From 7 till October 9 on the Kalininskaya nuclear power plant planned international insurance inspection of power units No. No. 1-4 was carried out. The assessment of insurance risks, first of all, from the point of view of nuclear and fire safety became a main goal of the work.

Experts of nuclear insurance pools of Great Britain, France, Ukraine and Russia took part in the work of the inspection. The technical director of insurers National association of a nuclear industry Sergey Babenko directed inspection work.

Participants of the inspection visited power units of the Kalininskaya nuclear power plant, storage of the fulfilled nuclear fuel, installation on conversion of radioactive waste, educational and training division. Considered questions of conducting operation, a condition of systems of safety, integrity of protection barriers in depth, results of partner checks of VAO nuclear power plant and other external checks, actions for management of resource characteristics of the equipment and useful life prolongation.

ЗIt is the first insurance inspection on the Kalininskaya nuclear power plant and it passed at high level. During it we were convinced that the station works safely and has good harmonious collective. We saw many strengths and we noted good condition of the equipment both on the first stage, and on new blocksИ, - Sergey Babenko summed up commission work.

Among positive sides the experts noted the monitoring system of metal, action for equipment upgrade, high level of fire safety, a personnel training system.

ЗI was very impressed by high degree of the safety culture shown at Kalininskaya nuclear station, - the representative of the British nuclear insurance pool Michael Pich noted. - Also among strengths I noted installation at station of the mobile equipment intended for increase of stability of the nuclear power plant to external impacts and beyond design basis accidents. We saw very effective and detailed program of radiation monitoring. As for control of emissions and environmental protection, and here the level of development of your station also is at very good levelИ.

In conclusion of the acting chief engineer of the Kalininskaya nuclear power plant Alexander Rumyantsev thanked the experts for fruitful work, cooperation and an appreciation of activities of the nuclear power plant on safety increase.

Insurance of nuclear risks is the type of insurance providing compensation of material damage or harm to the personality from radioactive impact, caused sudden and contingencies in case of production, production, storage, application and transportation of nuclear fuel and radioactive materials.
