Information Centre of Rostov NPP Honors Participants of ТNuclear Science and TechnologyУ Contest

On May 15, 2012 participants of the regional stage of the All-Russian contest of abstract and creative works ТNuclear Science and TechnologyУ met together in the Information Centre of Rostov NPP.



Looking back, the official debriefing of the regional stage of the ТNuclear Science and TechnologyУ contest was held on April 20 in Rostov-on-Don on base of the Information Centre for Nuclear Energy. Volgodonsk at this event was represented by three young scientists, and in general in the contest there participated more than 30 Volgodonsk school students and preschool children. Each of them received the deserved awards from Rostov Р the certificates and letters of appreciation, valuable prizes and gifts. Presentation was held in a festive atmosphere. All the guys and girls were happy, and expressed their readiness to take part in the next contests.

Svetlana Ovsyannikova, a teacher of fine arts of Lyceum ТPolytechУ and Grammar school ТChanceУ, on behalf of all the participants of the contest, their parents and teachers, thanked the organizers of the regional stage of the ТNuclear Science and TechnologyУ and ceremony of honoring in Volgodonsk: ТIХm very pleased that Rostov NPP carries out so many events for children. Nuclear scientists have a special reverent attitude to the younger generation. We have been feeling this for many years. Participation in contests of the Public Information Centre of the nuclear power plant is always a holiday. Here, children are loved and appreciated, as well as their talent and creativity.У

Rostov NPP is a branch of Rosenergoatom Concern OJSC. The enterprise is situated on the bank of Tsimlyansk Reservoir at 13,5 km from Volgodonsk. NPP operates two power units with VVER-1000 reactors with the capacity of 1,000 MW. Unit 1 was commissioned in 2001 and Unit 2 Р in December 2010. Power Units 3 and 4 are nowadays under construction.
