Bilibino NPP: power unit No. 4 has been connected to the grid

On January 20, 2011, at 02:14 a.m. (local time) power unit No. 4 of Bilibino NPP was connected to the grid after it was in Тcold reserveУ of Chaun-Bilibino power centre.

At present all power units of Bilibino NPP are in operation. No violations of limits and condition of power units safe operation have been registered.

Bilibino nuclear power plant is under safe and reliable operation. The radiation situation in the area of Bilibino NPP location and the adjacent territory does not exceed the set standards and corresponds to the natural environmental values.

Bilibino NPP is a branch of Rosenergoatom Concern OJSC. The plant is located next to Bilibino city, in the Chukotka Autonomous District. Bilibino NPP operates four EGP-6 uranium-graphite pressurized tube reactors. Each reactor has capacity of 12MW (el.). The first power unit was commissioned in 1973, the second Р in 1974, the third Р in 1975, and the fourth one Р in 1976. The plant produces about 75% of energy generated in Chaun-Bilibino isolated electricity system (upon that the system takes about 40% of energy consumed in the Chukotka Autonomous District).
