Bilibino NPP: 15.271 mln kWh of electric power were generated in March
In March of 2011, Bilibino NPP power units generated 15.271 mln kWh of electric power.
The utilization factor of maximum capacity amounted to 42.76 %.
Heat output from the collectors amounted to 20.055 thousand Gcal.
In March, there were no violations of limits and conditions of safe operation at the nuclear power plant. At present three power units are in operation. Power unit No. 1 is under midlife repair.
The radiation background at Bilibino NPP and in the area of its location corresponds to the normal operation of power units and does not exceed the natural background environmental values.
Bilibino NPP is a branch of Rosenergoatom Concern OJSC. The plant is located next to Bilibino city, in the Chukotka Autonomous District. Bilibino NPP operates four EGP-6 uranium-graphite pressurized tube reactors. Each reactor has capacity of 12MW (el.). The first power unit was commissioned in 1973, the second Р in 1974, the third Р in 1975, and the fourth one Р in 1976. The plant produces about 75% of energy generated in Chaun-Bilibino isolated electricity system (upon that the system takes about 40% of energy consumed in the Chukotka Autonomous District).
