Baltic NPP: First Parliamentary Debates among Young People in Neman
On September 28, 2012 in the conference-hall of the Administration of Neman municipal district, there were held the first inter-municipal ТParliamentary DebatesУ among youth teams of the Soviet urban district, Neman municipal district and Baltic nuclear power plant.
During the mind contests the teams representing ТThe GovernmentУ and the ТThe OppositionУ, reasonably proved or opposed the need for the enactment of bills about ТThe Introduction of the Administrative or Criminal Responsibility for Football Clubs Players for the Defeat in TournamentsУ, ТThe Introduction of Compulsory Military Service for WomenУ and ТThe Innovative Development of Nuclear EnergyУ.
As the members of the jury and participants noted, Тthe first stepУ was not troublesome, the debates were exciting and passed at a high level. ТThe game gave us real pleasure,У said in summing up a member of the jury, Head of the Public Information Centre of Baltic NPP, Inna Moreva. ТAll participants were convincing in their arguments and intelligently proved their point of view. It is important for the career development to be able to convince the companion competently and reasonably, to stand the ground and lead the discussion.У
Debates is a team game, therefore, participation in debates develops the teamwork skills. ТDebates teach to plan and apportion ideas and time. The winners of the first Parliamentary Debates, according to the mutual opinion of the jury, were all the teams. Each of the participants received certificates.
