On April 23, 2012 Balakovo NPP honored 28 employees of the nuclear power plant, marked by the order of Rosatom Nuclear Energy State Corporation, for their courage, dedication and hard work in discharge of their functions at rectification of the Chernobyl NPP Accident consequences.

Viktor Ignatov, a Deputy General Director Р Director of Balakovo nuclear power plant, a branch of Rosenergoatom Concern OJSC, solemnly handed commemorative badges For Participation in Rectification of the Consequences of the Accident to the Balakovo nuclear scientists. He thanked them for self-sacrificing performance of professional duties in the conditions of rectification of the consequences of the Chernobyl NPP Accident, and wished them health and success.

And on April 26 in Balakovo, near the Obelisk in memory of victims of radiation accidents and catastrophes, which is situated on the Avenue of Heroes, there will be held a sorrowful meeting dedicated to the 26th anniversary of the Chernobyl NPP disaster and the Day of the memory of the victims of radiation accidents and catastrophes.

By tradition, there will take part the Balakovo citizens, among which there will be employees of the nuclear power plant Р participants of the ТChernobyl eventsУ. They will honor the memory of those who sacrificed their health and life in rectification of the consequences of one of the largest industrial disasters.
