Balakovo NPP: power unit No. 3 has been connected to the grid
On June 20, 2011 at 12:49 a.m. power unit No. 3 of Balakovo NPP was connected to the grid after replacement of temperature sensor of one of the unit transformer. The power unit start-up was held in strict compliance with the operation schedule.
By June 20, 8 a.m. the power unit has reached its nominal capacity.
The nuclear plant operates power units Nos. 2, 3 and 4, power unit No. 1 has been under scheduled current repair since 08.06.2011. The NPP total loading is equal to 3,090 MW.
The radiation background at the plant and the adjacent territory is not changed, corresponds to normal operation and does not exceed the natural environmental values.
