A selective tour of the corporate contest of professional skills among electrical gas welders has been held at Rostov NPP

A selective tour of the corporate contest of professional skills ТThe Best in the ProfessionУ among electrical gas welders was held at Rostov NPP. Its purpose was to improve the NPP workersХ professional skills, to exchange their experience and working methods and to increase principal working professionsХ prestige as well.

Seven electric gas welders of the department of centralized maintenance fought for the title of ТThe Best in the ProfessionУ in 2011.

The contest consisted of two parts: checking of theoretical knowledge and the use of practical skills. Electric gas welder of the fifth degree Vladimir Rodin was determined to be the best welder according to the total score.

Summarizing the results, the committee under the chairmanship of Chief Engineer on Repair Ivan Malakhov was estimating the quality of the performed task, compliance with the technologies and the rules of labor protection while performing, the time spent on the welding, and also creative approach to the task fulfillment and labor culture.

Electric gas welders of the 6th degree Dmitry Samoylenko and Alexander Navoyev, who took in the contest the second and the third prizes correspondingly, had already participated in the contest of professional skills. Alexander Navoyev became the best welder in 2007.

The nuclear plant management encouraged each of the prize winners of the selective tour with diplomas ТThe Best in the ProfessionУ and cash bonuses.

Rostov NPP is a branch of Rosenergoatom Concern OJSC. The nuclear power plant is located on the bank of the Tsimlyansk Reservoir 13.5 km far from Volgodonsk city. The nuclear plant has two operating power units of VVER-1000-type reactors with installed capacity of 1,000 MW. Power unit No. 1 was put into commercial operation in 2001, power unit No 2 Р in December, 2010. The construction of power units Nos. 3 and 4 has been carried out since 2009.
