A batch of diesel driven generators is delivered to the Baltic NPP construction site

Another batch of large-sized equipment is delivered to the construction site of Baltic NPP Р it consists of 5 diesel driven generators with a total weight of 500 tons for the power unit No 2.

The installed capacity of each diesel generator set is about 6 MW. Four of them are designed for emergency power systems of safety system consumers, and one is for the self-generated power supply for auxiliary equipment.

It is to be recalled that the batch of diesel driven generators was shipped by French manufacturer ТMAN Diesel & Turbo France S.A.S.У in November 2016. The cargo was dispatched by the Baltic Sea to the port of Baltiysk, Kaliningrad Oblast, in a ferry vessel and then to the Neman station by rail and to the Baltic NPP construction site by road.


The specialists of the Directorate of the Nuclear Power Plant Construction have carried out the incoming equipment acceptance control. Currently, the diesel driven generators are placed in a warehouse; their compliance with the manufacturer safety requirements is provided.

As it was mentioned earlier, the work on the construction of the Baltic NPP Тnuclear islandУ is discontinued at the moment, but the construction of supporting infrastructure goes on. In particular, the buildings and warehousing structures for equipment acceptance and storage are built in accordance with the existing contracts.

The specialists of the Directorate of the Baltic NPP Construction carry out the equipment acceptance control; they control the process and quality of its production. The upkeep works continue at the construction site in order to be ready to resume the construction and assembly works in full capacity.
