Russian NPPs increased power generation by almost 2% in 9 months of 2022

Russian nuclear power plants (affiliates of Rosenergoatom, Electric Power Division of the State Corporation Rosatom) increased their power generation by almost 2% in the first nine months of 2022 compared to the same period of the previous year.

Generation from January to September amounted to about 164.3 billion kilowatt-hours or 102.54% of the balance task of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) of Russia. Therefore, since the beginning of the year, more than 4 billion kWh have been generated in excess of the FAS balance target (as of 01.10.2022).

The work of all Russian NPPs for nine months of this year made it possible to prevent emissions of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere in the amount of almost 82.5 million tons of CO2 equivalent. The generation for the month of September amounted to more than 18.4 billion kilowatt-hours of power (as of 01.10.2022).

The share of power generation by nuclear power plants in Russia is about 20%.
