Rosenergoatom (part of the Electric Power Division of the State Corporation Rosatom) summed up the results of the main annual competition of the Electric Power Division "The Best NPP of Russia".

According to the results of work in 2021, the Balakovo NPP (Balakovo, the Saratov Region) was recognized as the best NPP in the country. Also, the list of leaders that got the maximum number of points according to the results of the assessment included the Kola NPP, it took the second place, and the Leningrad NPP, that ranked third.

General Director of Rosenergoatom Andrey Petrov, commenting on the results of the competition, noted that, despite the fact that 2021, like previous years, was not easy for the entire nuclear industry, including due to the coronavirus outbreak, it has become one of the most productive in the history of the company. “Last year, Russian nuclear power plants operated reliably and safely and completed it with a new production record, generating 222.436 billion kWh of electricity. And this is the merit of the well-coordinated work of all plants without exception,” the head of Rosenergoatom noted.

The winners of the competition were decided on the basis of a number of basic and additional indicators related to such areas of activity as: safety, operational efficiency and maintenance, the state of physical protection, labor and environmental protection, etc.

"The Best NPP of Russia" competition is held to identify and disseminate the positive experience of award-winning nuclear power plants.
