Russian NPPs increased power generation by almost 2.27% in the first quarter of 2022

Russian nuclear power plants (branches of Rosenergoatom, the Electric Power Division of Rosatom) increased power generation by almost 2.27% within three months of 2022 compared to the same period of the previous year.

The output for this period of this year amounted to more than 58.5 billion kilowatt-hours or 104.94% of the balance task of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) of Russia. Therefore, since the beginning of the year, more than 2.7 billion kWh have been generated in excess of the FAS balance target.

In March the generation amounted to over 20.5 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity.

The operation of all Russian NPPs over the three months of 2022 made it possible to prevent emissions of greenhouse gases into the atmospheric air in the amount of more than 28.6 million tons of CO2 equivalent.

The share of electricity generation by nuclear power plants in Russia is about 19%.

Operational information on the radiation situation next to Russian NPPs and other facilities of the nuclear industry is available on the website www.russianatom.ru.
